Ronnie Burkett is a Canadian original. His puppet plays are grownup entertainments.
The writing is sophisticated and often bawdy, and the puppetry itself
is nothing short of miraculous. Burkett is always visible, manipulating
the marionettes, or whatever other puppet is called for, often several
at a time. He switches characters and voices with chameleon ease. He is
absolutely to be seen. But if you haven't, you can start by hearing him
here in conversation with Bill Richardson.
